The dry period is the most important time in the dairy farming calendar giving the udder time to rest, repair, and prepare for the next lactation while allowing farmers time to recover and plan ahead. Animal Health Ireland (AHI) has launched a new practical guide, Top 10 Tips for a Successful Dry Period, designed to help dairy farmers manage one of the most critical times of the season.
In support of the booklet, a series of short information videos was developed.
As part of the launch, Animal Health Ireland held a Drying off webinar which tied in a farm family’s own experience with Selective Dry Cow Therapy, and how they go about the drying off process.
