Johne’s disease Herd Investigations in 2019

All herds registered with the Irish Johne’s Control Programme that have one or more positive ancillary test results are required to undergo a Johne’s disease herd investigation, funded under the Rural Development Plan 2014-2020.

A comprehensive investigation will be undertaken by the supervising TASAH AVP and a control plan developed to identify high risk animals and assist herdowners manage these animals to prevent the risk of further infection spread within the herd.

The AHI Office will contact herdowners whose herds have returned positive ancillary test results.
